Rachel Mesch is a professor of French literature and culture. She lives in New York with her husband and their three children. She has published widely on French women writers of the eighteenth, nineteenth and twentieth centuries.  Plus ça change… features images and texts she discovered when researching her book, Having it All in the Belle Epoque: How French Women’s Magazines Invented the Modern Woman (Stanford University Press, 2013).
